Host's project description
Prof. Dr. Geoffrey A. Ozin, University of Toronto is one of the most influential materials chemists of our days and holds numerous recognitions and awards.
In his work, he combines modern inorganic chemistry with lithographic and self-assembly techniques, making him one of the founders and visionaries of interdisciplinary nanoscience. He is one of the three Canadian "most cited researchers", and 20 of his papers are among the 200 most cited in material science of all times. He opened or invented a number of fields, among them new types of mesoporous films, photonic microchips, fast functional sensors and electrochromic devices, just to name a few. Prof. Ozin is not only an exceptional chemist, he also tries to bridge the science communities on both sides of the Atlantic ocean, with activities in the United Kingdom, Spain, and now - also Germany.
